Friday 6pm - 8.30pm:
Yoga for the Internal Organs
While most yoga classes aim to simply stretch and strengthen the musculature, this class focuses on specific techniques to direct the flow of prana (blood and lymph) through the internal organs. When the organs perform optimally, there is radiant vitality in the body. Many people suffer from stagnation in the viscera due to excess sitting, dietary imbalances and emotional holding. This can lead to sluggishness, stagnation and the unwanted growth of tumors and cysts. In this unique course, we look at the way a yoga practice can promote health and vital function within the internal organs. We review the anatomical position and function of each organ and utilize somatic movements and yoga postures to wash, rinse and drain fluids through each organ.
(For teachers and all interested students)
Saturday 12.30pm - 3pm:
Centering In
The region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in Japan, the dantian in China and related to the second chakra in yoga, it is the source of the breath and the origin of the deep life force. In this class we initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions, we stretch, expand and strengthen the tissues of the lower abdomen.
Saturday 4pm - 6.30pm
Purifying the Throat Chakra
Of all seven chakras, the throat is most delicate and vulnerable. It is common for physical, emotional and psychic strain to accumulate in the throat. For this reason, we take care to loosen the tissues of the upper shoulders, neck and throat. We practice movements on the floor to gently pump the tissues in the neck followed by postures to irrigate blood and lymph into the throat. Without clamping or clenching, we emphasize the movement of the throat seal (jalandhara bandha) to lightly squeeze the area surrounding the thyroid. Through chant and sound vibration we build internal resonance in the throat in order to purify the throat chakra.
Sun 10am - 12.30pm
Yoking the Shoulder Girdle
It is all too common for the shoulders to collapse and displace forward due to repetitive strain, overuse of the arms, and too much “ keyboard-asana”! This can result in neck pain, tension between the shoulder blades and numbness in the arm and hand. The aim of this class is to reduce shoulder and neck restriction and to effectively yoke the shoulder blades onto the back. We will practice joint mobilization techniques to help release strain from the shoulders and yoga posture to open the shoulder girdle.
Rocket 1 is based on the 1st Series of Ashtanga. Streamlined standing postures interlaced with inversions, and forward bends mixed with core training and handstands, ending with hip openers, deep relaxation, and song. In addition to the fundamental standing and seated series, we will break down the main arm balances (crow, forearm stand, and handstand), and getting into the rocket state of mind. The chant is "Lokah Samastha Suki No Bhavantu" (connecting to the power of love)
Beginners are welcome.
All of the rocket practices are based on the classical style of yoga, Ashtanga (the original power flow). The emphasis is on drishti (focus), pranayama (breath control), and bandha (core strength), while moving through Sun Salutations to warm up, standing, and then seated asana.

Sunday, May 25th, 2pm - 4.30pm:
Rocket 3
Rocket 3 is a mash up. The best of both worlds. This is where we put it all together, combining the first and second series. It sounds intimidating, but Rocket 3 is designed for beginners as well as advanced students. Even the most advanced arm balance often begins with a simple hip opener, so there is always something that everyone will be able to do. Rocket 3 give you a chance to confront your ego and your present reality, and find out what you CAN do, instead of focusing on what you CAN'T do. I try to make sure there is at least one pose that NO ONE can do when I teach this series as it's a good reminder that the practice is not just the Asana. Rocket 3 may look like it's all physical, but it's a way to train your BRAIN. Ending with yoga Nidra (guided relaxation with intention), and a song.
"Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devomaheshvara, Guru Sakchat, Param Brahma, Tas Mai Sri Guruvey Namaha". (connecting with teachers in all forms)

The ultimate evening of relaxation to soothe the nervous system.
Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, is a powerful meditation technique. While the you rest in savasana, you will be guided through a practice that draws your attention inwards, where you can ebb and flow between the states of wakefulness and sleep, allowing your body to find its natural state of homeostasis.
A sound bath is a therapeutic and meditative experience whereby you “bathe” in sounds and vibrations produced by different instruments such as gongs, Tibetan bowls, and crystal bowls. Through these sounds and vibrations, the brainwave state is altered from normal waking state (beta) to relaxed state (alpha), dreamlike state (theta), and even restorative state (delta). As the mind and body relax, the heart rate and blood pressure decrease and we enter a state where deep healing can occur.
As you will be lying on the floor for 75 minutes, please bring anything you need to make yourself really comfortable. We have bolsters and blankets, but maybe bring an extra blanket, pillow and eye mask, and of course your yoga mat.
Door will open at 7.15pm and close at 7.30pm. Late entry will not be permitted.
We will start with a gentle conscious connected breathwork practice, focusing on deepening relaxation and entering an altered state before easing into the deep sound immersion with Alchemy Crystal bowls, Grotto Sonoro gongs, Tibetan bowls, koshi chimes, an ocean drum and sansula.
Sound healing is an ancient form of therapy that works on a cellular and energetic level, entraining our body and mind to the healing frequencies and vibrations of the sound instruments. Through these sounds and vibrations, the brainwave state is altered from our normal waking state (beta) to relaxed state (alpha), dreamlike state (theta), and even restorative state (delta). As the mind and body relax, the heart rate and blood pressure decrease and we enter an altered state of consciousness where deep healing can occur.
The sound healing instruments have the power to transmute any negative or heavy energies as the frequencies of the sacred sounds raise us to a higher vibrational energy, sooth our nervous systems and heal us on a cellular level.
The breathwork and healing sounds will all combine to help the body and mind release and let go of any stress or tension and bring the body into balance.
Bolsters and blankets will be provided, but feel free to bring anything extra for your own comfort - pillows, cushions, blankets, an eye pillow, and your own yoga mat.
Studio doors will be open from 6.45pm only, and will be locked at 7pm so we can start on time. Late entry unfortunately will not be possible.

Spiritus Breathwork is a form of conscious connected breathing that allows us to enter into an altered state of consciousness. Here we can connect into deeper layers of our being to regulate our nervous system and release any patterns of trauma in the body that have been stored deep in the tissues.
The breathwork is used to bring about somatic release, bringing balance into the mind, body and spirit. We work to release unconscious thought patterning, stored emotions and tension from the body.
As we breath in a conscious connected way we bring activation into our nervous system, stirring up any cycles of activation that have been held within the body, and we allow these emotions to move through us as we regulate our body with our breath.
