This workshop is designed with the birth partner in mind! Learn tools to move through labor with a unified sense of ease and empowerment in welcoming new baby into the world. Handstands Part 2 with Luc Prenoveau

Sun Date: Jul 13 2025 From: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
If you've gained the foundations of handstands, or if you feel ready to take your inversions to the next level, Part II is for you! In this second level in the handstands workshop series, we’ll work on how to hold a freestanding handstand (working away from the wall or attempting to) which requires practice and repetition, getting over our fears and most importantly learning to fall out of a handstand safely. In addition, we’ll focus our time on the different shapes in a handstand that include an L-hop, egg/tuck handstand as well as a straddle handstand.

The practice will begin as always with a handstand focused warm up ensuring we loosen up our wrists, shoulders, hips, hamstrings, etc. and then transition to a short yoga flow class intended to get the core engaged and work the key muscles used in handstands including your hands and fingers! Then, we’ll focus the remainder of our time (the majority of it) on specific drills to help you with the skills needed and provide you the opportunity to feel and play around with the different shapes you can make in a handstand. We’ll partner up and use each other for support, feedback and to best of all, to learn from each other as you watch your cohorts.

This workshop is intended for practitioners who have taken Handstands Part 1 or already have the ability to get upside down without use of the wall or minimal use of a wall (even if you are only holding it for a second or two…that counts!). Please note you do not need to be an expert by any means; however, you do need to be beyond the beginner level or have attended the Intro workshop which will layout the fundamentals to grow your practice.

The only thing needed for this is your willingness to try and a sense of humor because going upside down means letting go of our ego and having fun!
